Gregory Wedel-Morales

Sooo, we just did the case of Vanessa Guillen and while I was googling about her case, I came across MISSING SOLDIER FROM FORT HOOD FOUND...

So Gregory Morales was last seen on August 19, 2019.. Yes, August 2019, and the last time anyone heard from him was August 20th. He was actually in the process of getting out of the military as he had served his contracts time.

It wasn’t until Vanessa’s case and the tips coming in for her case that someone stepped up and called in a tip about Gregory that lead to police finding his body in a field right outside of Fort Hood.

His body was found on June 19th, 2020 in a field right outside of Fort Hood. His family felt that the Army didn’t really care to search for his body, nor did they really have any sort of care towards the family with their son being missing.

Family described him as someone that was always around when you needed him, goofy, someone that played pranks a lot, and always wore a cowboy hat.

He was a trucker driver while he was in the Army, and he served tours in Kuwait and South Korea. Gregory did have goals to work on the wind turbines in Texas which is why his family knew he hadn’t just walked away from him post. He had goals, and he was days away from getting out of the service and being able to achieve said goals.

According to his mom, he was having difficulty at home (and his wife has since been arrested for animal abuse..) and was saving up money to get a divorce before he was murdered.

They are still waiting on an official autopsy report to come back to determine his cause of death, but they have said that while there’s not a lot of information right now to determine what happened, they do suspect foul play was involved.

Gregory was originally listed as a fugitive/deserter for going AWOL from the Army; however, it has since been changed so that his mother can bury him with official honors and a proper burial.

Authorities have said that there is no connection between Vanessa Guillen and Gregory’s case, but there is a $25,000 reward for any credible tips indicating what lead to his death. Thanks to his mother. She reached out to the Army asking why nobody had put out a reward for him like they had Vanessa. Originally it was $15,000 then raised to $25,000 on June 15th.. Then four days later his remains were found.

That makes you kind of wonder what connection this tipster had to the case to know where the body was.. Or think they knew where it was and was only willing to come forward for a $25,000 reward???

They are asking that any people with information call the Army CID Desk at 254-287-2722 or the Military Police Desk at 254-288-1170. People can also submit anonymous tips at: https://www.cid.army.mil/report-a-crime.html
