Tylee Ryan and JJ Vallow
This is a story becoming too well known. Something happening way too frequently. Murder, in general, is something we hear too often. We see too often. But something we, clearly, find fascinating for some reason. We all want to know the gruesome details, what happened, who did it. But the story I’m about to tell is the story that makes us all cringe. You get sick to your stomach. You wonder what kind of evil resides in someone’s body to do what these people did. This is the story of JJ Vallow and Tylee Ryan, the murdered children of Lori Vallow and husband Chad Daybell.
Explanation
This story has a lot of innerworkings. It’s going to be another long one with a lot of details. These two have a lot of death that surrounds them. We will work through a timeline starting in the 1990’s and moving through to today because, sadly, Lori has been a trash person her whole life and the people around her have had to suffer for years.
The Timeline
Somewhere between the ages of 18-19, Lori Vallow marries her first husband in 1992. Not much is known about him or this marriage, just that they are high school sweethearts who got married and divorced not long after.
Then, in October of 1995, Lori will marry her second husband, William Lagioiga, and they will go on to have a son named Colby. Just like her first marriage, the second doesn’t last long, either. By December of 1996, her husband will file for divorce. It will take a year and a half for the divorce to even get finalized.
Her next marriage will take place in 2001. This will be the father of her daughter, Tylee, and he will also adopt her son, Colby. But... by 2004, he is also going to file for divorce. Sensing a pattern here, yet? I’m guessing Colby stays with him? We don’t really hear or know much about him, but given he’s still alive.. Makes me wonder. This divorce will be finalized in 2005 when Tylee is roughly only 2.5 years old.
By February of 2006, Lori has met her fourth husband, Charles, and claimed her current last name of Vallow. These two actually stay married for quite some time. Given how things have happened, I’m truly surprised because I think she might be pretty unwell in the mental health department, but maybe she was okay for a while or Charles was coo-coo orrrrrr........... he didn’t know how to get out and was someone who would stay no matter what.
In 2014, they will adopt Charles’s great nephew, JJ and a few months later the family of four will move to Hawaii.
Two-three years later the family will move to Phoenix, AZ.
On April 3rd, 2018, Tylee’s father sadly passed away from what was ruled a heart attack.
This is where things are going to start getting real sketch.
Start of the Cult
Lori and Chad Daybell are going to be guests on a podcast that has been rumored to be like a doomsday prepper podcast. I don’t know how you end up “rumored” but.. It's apparently about doomsday prepping for when Jesus comes back. Which.... correct me if I'm wrong, but I’m pretty sure if you’re saved, and Jesus comes back... then.... you just go to Heaven... so your prepping is completely pointless. Because you will be in Heaven...? Makes absolutely no sense to me, but whatevz. The podcast is called “Preparing a People” and they’ve since deleted a lot stuff and deny any knowledge of the Tylee and JJ’s disappearance.
Some big events will take place in February of 2019.. Her current husband, Charles Vallow, is going to change his million-dollar life insurance policy to make his sister the sole beneficiary so that she can take care of JJ. Which leaves me with A LOT of questions.
What did he know?
Did he suspect his life was in danger?
Did Lori threaten him?
Did he find something to suggest his life might be in danger?
If he answers yes to any of the following above... WHY DID YOU NOT GO TO THE POLICE????
Well, it turns out he also files for divorce and when he does so... he reveals some interesting things about Lori.
She thought that she was a God carrying out a mission for Jesus coming back. Apparently, He was coming back in July of 2020 – does she know anything about religion? N O B O D Y knows when Jesus is coming back! What bible are you reading, sis? She also told him that she’d kill him if he got in her way of carrying out her sketchy special mission and an angel that I guess just hangs out around her all the time will help her get rid of his body. REALLY WHAT THE HECK KIND OF BIBLE ARE YOU READING?? Because I don’t think you’re reading right.
And then.... Charles will do something both noble and dumb... he’s going to take back his divorce with Lori to “try again”
Which like.. I kinda get it. You’ve been married for 13ish years who would want to just walk away? But.. She told you she’d kill you and dispose of you doing???? Why would you stay in that situation? That ain’t safe. If she thinks she’s carrying out an unreal mission for Jesus then she probably isn’t going to give two craps to kill you.
She’s also going to sink her teeth into her niece and get her to join her sketchy cult in June of 2019. To which she will also file for divorce from her husband because of it. He openly shared that information on social media.
Then in July of 2019... Charles is going to be murdered outside of his home by Lori’s brother. The frustration I felt as I read that. You could have gotten out, dude. W H Y Y Y Y did you stay!?
AND THEN THE CRAZIEST PART????? The brother, Alex Cox, is going to claim SELF DEFENSE and not get charged with MURDERING SOMEONE WHOSE SISTER HAD ALREADY THREATENED TO KILL HIM? WHY ARE THOSE DOTS NOT CONNECTING FOR POLICE WHEN THEY CONNECT FOR SOMEONE WHO READS STUFF AND TALKS ABOUT IT FOR FUN!?
Then August 10th will be the last time that JJ’s grandmother will ever see his face alive. He facetimed with her this day and that was it.
In September of 2019 the family of now three since Charles is dead will move to Rexburg, Idaho.... Because Lori and Chad are going to be together even though he’s married to Tammy still.
Also, September is the last time that Tylee is seen alive. She was visiting Yellowstone National Park where she had her pictures taken. She was with her mom, brother, and sketchy murderer uncle Alex.
By the end of September, I think is when the kids are officially missing because Lori cancels her babysitter claiming that JJ no longer lives with them and has moved back to Arizona to live with his grandmother. Which is obviously a lie. The last time his grandmother saw him was in August. Doesn’t that just raise 808 red flags for you all?
October 1st, Lori is going to decide that she needs to rent a storage unit. She’s going to visit a lot that month. By a lot I mean 9 times and multiple of those visits will include who police think is her brother, Alex. They have surveillance footage showing a man that I’m guessing fits his description.
So Charles Vallow died July 11th.. On October 2nd Lori’s niece who had left her husband over this cult, remember her? Well her ex-husband was also shot at outside of his home in Arizona! And guess whose car was used to do the shooting? CHARLES VALLOW’S! WHO IS DEAD! Like 3 months in the ground kind of dead. He didn’t come back and do this. He believes it was Alex Cox, and I do, too. I mean... who else would it have been? Apparently, the car had been outside of his home all day then fired at his house. The bullet BARELY MISSED HIS HEAD. I mean, Alex had already killed Charles. Why wouldn’t he also try to kill his niece’s ex-husband who didn’t support the cult? Makes perfect sense to me.
Thennnnn... October 19th, Tammy Daybell is going to be found dead... which I really would like to know what’s going on with police because they ruled her cause of death as “natural”... for now.
Which.. Let me just interject here. What the heck are these police investigators doing? You have Lori whose ex is shot dead by her brother. Her niece’s husband is shot at. Chad is having a relationship with this lady. Then his wife comes up dead? How do you rule her death natural? I need to know details.
Then not even a month later, Chad and Lori are going to get married in Hawaii....... but nothing is wrong with that, right? Not weird at all..... *eyeroll* By the way.. This is her 5th husband.
F I N A L L Y … the police are going to do a wellness check at Lori’s home in Idaho, but it wasn’t until JJ’s grandparents called concerned because they’d not seen him or talked to him since freaking AUGUST 10th.. And then Lor is like “nahh he’s good. He's with family in arizona” WHICH CLEARLY HE ISN’T BECAUSE THAT’S HIS GRANDPARENTS, AND THEY CALLED THE COPS ABOUT HIM!
The next day police are going to go back to their home to I guess ask more questions or investigate more.. I don’t know, but what they discover is Chad and Lori are gone... W E I R D?
Her niece will remarry at the end of November, too, which I don’t really see as like super irrelevant, but he’d also been divorced recently so it makes me wonder if maybe he is also in the cult. I'm assuming he is or else she wouldn’t have married him.
Then the police I guess are starting to connect some dots because on December 11th, they decided Tammy’s death wasn’t a normal death and exhumed her body. Fingers crossed something comes back.
Then the next day.. Her brother, Alex, is DEAD! But they said his death was because of a blood clot... so I don’t know if he threw one to his brain, his heart, or his lung, but I mean.. I can believe that.
On December 20th, the police come out and tell the world that they are going to start searching for Tylee and JJ, and they also believe that Lori and Chad are involved in the death of Tammy. And not a shocker, but they also refused to cooperate with police.
The next day the police will FINALLY declare Lori and Chad as suspects in the disappearance of Tylee and JJ .
Nine days later of the 30th, police will come and out and announce they believe the kid’s lives are in danger, and they don’t know where they are.
On January 3rd, there are three different police forces that will serve a search warrant at the Vallow/Daybell household. The Rexburg PD, Fremont PD, and the FBI. They will take a multitude of items into evidence including cell phones and computers, but also taking different medications which I don’t get why, but whatever, and different documents, journals, etc..
On the 7th, JJ’s grandparents will put up a $20,00 reward for Tylee and JJ to return safely
The last time the police had contact with Lori and Chad was November 26th, and they will finally be found almost 2 months later on January 25th. They will be found in Kuaui, Hawaii where Lori used to live with her ex-husband, Charles. They are ordered by the local PD to return to Rexburg, Idaho to the Rexburg PD or the Idaho Department of Welfare with the kids in tow in 5 days.
It’s really sad that the grandparents are doing everything they can in hopes that JJ will be returned alive because they will file for custody of him on January 29th.
The next day is the 5 day mark for Lori and Chad to produce the kids, and they obviously will not show up with them.
On February 20th, Lori’s butt is finally going to be arrested and charged with the following felony charges:
Nonsupport of dependent children
Desertion
Then she will also be charged with the following misdemeanor charges:
Solicitation of a crime and contempt
Resisting and obstructing an officer
Chad... is not charged with squat at this point. Annoyingly.
But Lori is to be extradited to Idaho with a $5 million dollar bail, and the next day she has decided to fight the extradition order.
But then on February 6th, her request to have her bail lowered is denied, and she’s given up on the fight to not be extradited. Meaning- she's going back to Idaho which will happen on March 5th. The next day she goes to court where a Judge named Faren Eddins LOWERS HER BAIL TO 1 MILLION DOLLARS.
WHY.
SHE DOESN’T DESERVE THAT. THAT’S STUPID
Then a week later Lori requests that this Judge remove himself from her case which I don’t know why if he lowered her bail like she asked. Another Judge named Michelle Mallard will take his spot.
On June 9th, Chad Daybell will finally be arrested after police search his property and find two sets of human remains.
He will be charged with the following:
Concealment or alteration of evidence
Destruction
The next day, family of JJ and Tylee will confirm for police that the remains they found are indeed that of the children. I can’t even imagine what the bodies looked like when family had to identify them, and I don’t want to. I just feel like that would be SO traumatic for the family and something they will never forget. It just makes me wonder if there wasn’t another way they could have identified the bodies without having to have their other family members doing so. Chad will also appear in court on the same day where he will have bail set to $1million dollars.
More Information
So after reading some more, we can fill in the blanks of our timeline and do some updates.
From what I’ve read, Lori’s brother, Alex, died from a Pulmonary Embolus which is a blood clot in the lungs. Even though in another article I read it was unknown what his cause of death was, but we know it was a blood clots and a PE will do that so. These articles were only a day apart.
There was also a body language expert that discussed Lori going into the courtroom as being overly confident. This expert did say that we can’t always compare our own reactions to someone else’s, but you could tell that she appeared to be very confident and cocky with her situation which blows my mind, but I can get the sense that Lori thinks she’s above the law since she thinks she’s a god of some sort.
Speaking of that, I’ve also read some more interesting information that Charles Vallow had on Lori. Apparently Charles had actually called the local police department back in January when he hadn’t heard from the kids in days. Police came to his home to speak with him, and he informed them about Lori’s wild religious beliefs and how she’d always had these crazy religious fantasies, but as the years had gone by.. She'd gotten a lot worse. She had threatened his life multiple times and claimed he wasn’t Charles anymore because a man named Nick Schneider had taken over his body??? He also expressed his concern to police that his children’s safety could be in danger with her.
He had actually been out of town on a business trip and when he got back home at the airport, his vehicle was missing. Lori had taken it. She’d tossed his belongings out of their home. And she also bled their bank account dry.
He filed a report against her, and she went into the police station with Tylee and Melanie Gibb in tow. Lori told police that Charles was a cheater, traveled a lot for work, she caught him, told him not to come home, his stuff would be gone, etc.. Then Tylee (ugh sweet Tylee) would tell police that he had sent her a text late at night that had a link about their church on it. Lori was brainwashing these poor babies. Then Lori checked herself in so that she could be mentally evaluated, passed, and left.
For his death, we know the brother, Alex, did it, but police are hoping to be able to charge her with at least conspiracy to commit murder since they do believe she is involved.
According to this sketchy individual, Alex, Charles had waltzed into their home where Lori and the children lived, and they got into a fight. At some point, it sounds like Charles had a baseball bat, and Alex decided the next logical step was to shoot and kill him. Then Alex called 911 and claimed self defense. My take? That's complete bullcrap. I say this because Alex Charles was concerned for the children, and they weren’t even his. JJ was his blood relative, but Tylee was not. He had more concern for these kids than Lori did. And, JJ should’ve stayed with Charles over Lori. He wasn’t even Lori’s blood relative. Lori’s also a garbage mother. We’ll get to more on that. So anyways, I think that Alex probably pulled a gun on Charles FIRST, and Charles grabbed the baseball bat for the real self-defense and then Alex shot him because Lori wanted him dead. That’s my theory. Because why else does Alex just happen to have a gun on him?? Who conceal or open carries inside a house? You don’t. Another weird thing is Lori wasn’t even home. When she does get home, police body cam footage shows her smiling. Like doesn’t even give a crap about the fact that her ex-husband is dead. Murdered. And is just like oh my gosh the neighbors don’t know us yet and I'm just smiling like hi neighbors.. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THIS LADY? WHAT A PSYCHOPATH.
So more on garbage Lori.. We all love dogs here, right? Cleary, I do. JJ had autism. He had a dog to help him with his special needs. All of a sudden when they’re moving to Idaho, Lori calls the breeder/trainer of this dog and says they have to give him back because they’re moving and it’s just too hard. The breeder thought this was super strange because his dad for all intents and purposes just died and wouldn’t he need this support dog more now than he did the prior year? Probably, but Lori is G A R B A G E.
September 24th is also the day that Lori will take JJ out of his new school in Rexburg, Idaho with claims to start homeschooling him. JJ was at school the previous day.
Side Note: I know this is kind of all over the place, but there’s so many different updates that I’m just trying to fill in some holes
So in January, remember her oldest son she had from her second marriage named Colby? He will actually put a video out begging his mom to please bring the kids home. He knows that she knows where they are and what happened. To please ease everyone’s mind and just be honest about what’s going on. He knows she’s a good person/heart deep down.. And she needs to do the right thing. Ugh poor guy. Can you imagine having this lady as your mom? Or how he’s feeling? He will also have a conversation with her while she’s in jail just begging her to do the right thing, again, and she told him she loved him. This was also in March before the children’s reminds were found. He had said that it’s just hard for him to imagine she’d ever do something like this and so it’s hard to separate logic and feelings when the kids are still missing, and he doesn’t know what happened. I mean, honestly, what a stand up and strong guy. I cannot imagine being in his shoes, having my siblings missing, and his mom being the number 1 suspect/guilty. That has to be an unbelievably difficult pill to swallow.
Lori is also going to have this friend named Melanie Gibb. Melanie is going to testify against her as well as help police with their case. In the beginning, Lori somehow convinces Melanie to lie to police that JJ is with her. Which she owned up to the lie. But she then became suspicious of these two, and she called Lori and recorded the conversation to play for the police. She also told the court that Lori and Chad and all these crazy people became friends because of their church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She also said that Lori had told her multiple times throughout the year that JJ and Tylee had become zombies, and the only way to save their soul was to kill them. I’m just wondering why ole Melanie didn’t call the cops when her psycho friend made comments about KILLING HER KIDS?????? Seems to me like something you’d be concerned about. Like good on you for finally coming forward, but you should have come forward a long time ago and maybe these kids would still be alive? I get that’s harsh to put on someone, but you don’t just let people make claims like that and do nothing with it. That's insane.
And to elaborate on that, this isn’t the first person to mention this! Remember her niece who is ironically also named Melani? Well, when her ex filed for custody against her, more things came to light about Lori’s claims her kids are zombies. Melani’s current husband, Ian, said that Melani had mentioned this to him as well. Lori claimed the kids were zombies, and she also expressed concern that Brandon’s life was in danger, too, and that could lead to the children needing to die as well because she’d been told Brandon needed to die so that the Lord’s mission could continue and his soul could be saved.... He also said that she was concerned the Lori’s brother had been the one to kill the kids because his faith in the Lord was so strong that he could do anything asked of him. To be honest, this gives me some hope that Melani and her new husband aren’t as crazy as Lori since they’re willing to basically come out against her, and Melani recognizes that what is happening seems crazy and concerning to her.
I’d also like to point out that this is not God. God does not have you murder your own children. You psycho.
So the kids were last seen in September. Tylee was September 8th. JJ was September 23rd. I am thinking that they were killed separately. Tylee being killed first because on September 9th, Chad called his still alive wife, Tammy, and he told her that he’d killed a raccoon on their property, burned it, and buried it...... what???? Who does that?? The reason I think this is Tylee is because when her body is found, they found her dismembered and charred. Which just makes my stomach turn. I can’t imagine being so evil to freaking kill my child let alone like that. But according to them, they were saving her soul so she could rest forever..... not as a zombie. I hate these people. Tylee would have been 17 on September 24th.
Then, when little JJ was found.. His body was wrapped in plastic and duct tape.
Neither autopsy reports have come back, and we don’t know their official causes of death. I’m honestly not sure if they will even come out with what happened since they were minors, but because of the media coverage on the case, I'd say there’s a good chance we will know at some point.
There is evidence that Alex Cox helped dispose of the bodies which I whole-heartedly believe is true since he was such a freaking awful person, too, and they believe this because they actually found the bodies thanks to his cell records.
There was also phone recordings between Lori and Chad released on the day police were searching the property. You could definitely hear the panic in her voice, but not necessarily in his. He just seemed kind of quiet and like “hey giving you a heads up” kind of attitude and not an “oh shit... they’re going to find the children we murdered out here” .. I’m honestly wondering what kind of mental capacity he has.
Police were also out there searching for them with 5 cadaver dogs. Dogs are so great.
Lori’s sister had also been out and about in defense of her, which I mean... I don’t fault her for that. You don’t want to believe that your family could do something so heinous and often times these people are so good at hiding who they are that family never picks up on it.. I mean look at BTK.. His family had no idea. But she will eventually come out and say how horrible she feels for ever defending her garbage sister and how much it has destroyed their family.
I just want to read something that Chad Daybell wrote about his wife, Tammy, that I found on Deseret.com...
“My dear wife Tammy passed away in her sleep early Saturday, October 19. When I awoke at around 6 a.m., it was clear she had been gone for several hours.
“It came as a shock. I couldn’t believe I hadn’t been awakened somehow, but all indications are that her spirit simply slipped away during the night. Her face looked serene, with her eyes closed and a slight smile. It was devastating to discover her that way, but I’m so grateful that her death was peaceful.”
“I’m in the process of implementing what she has told me to do. She has indicated that my life has two parts that were planned even before I came to earth.”
He titled this “Moving into the Second Half of My Life” when Tammy died 12 days prior.
The latest update is that her date of arraignment is scheduled for August 27th. This will be for her two felony charges, and she will enter a plea. If she were to plea not guilty, which I’m sure she will, then she will have a trial date set this day. This will obviously be in front of a jury.
She has already plead not guilty to her misdemeanor charges and will face trial January 25-29, 2021.
Both of her and Chad’s felony charges only carry a maximum of five years in federal prison with $10,000 fines, but hopefully at some point they will be charged with the murder of these children, and she will also face charges of having something to do with the murder of Charles and maybe even attempted murder on Brandon since he was shot at outside his home with his ex-wife stating she was concerned for his safety.
And that is it on this case!
We actually don’t have a pup of the week this week becauseeee... Melia texted me to let me know that Kelso actually has a pending adoption application!!! This makes me SOOO happy!
